Questions about hiring developers.

Answers to common questions about finding free stuff with FreeStufzy.

What is FreeStufzy?

A mobile app for finding free stuff across the UK. It brings together listings from several sources so you can search them in one place.

Where do the listings come from?

Gumtree freebies, Freegle, and online freebie and offer listings from HotUKDeals. The sources page lists what we read from each and how. More sources can be added over time.

Do I get the stuff from FreeStufzy?

No. Every listing links to the original post. You contact the person or site that offered it and agree collection or sign-up with them.

Is it free to use?

Browsing is free and needs no account.

Where do I get the app?

Email [email protected] for the current status of the mobile app. In the meantime you can browse the live free stuff feed on the Browse page.

How often are listings updated?

The feed refreshes about once an hour, so a listing can be gone before we notice. Always check the original post.

Can I see what is near me?

Yes. On the Browse page, use Items near me and allow your location. Your position is sent with the search so nearby items can be sorted first. Gumtree listings do not include a location, so they are not shown in a nearby search.

Are freebies and offers the same thing?

No. Items are things people give away that you collect, such as furniture. Offers are online freebies and samples from brands and retailers. The Browse page has a filter for each.

Is there an API?

Yes, the feed behind this site is available as a read-only JSON API. Ask us at [email protected] about using it.

How do I collect free items safely?

Meet in a public place or bring someone with you if you are unsure, tell a friend where you are going, and do not pay anyone who asks for money up front for a freebie.
